Missed NMC Eligibility Deadline? EMRB Offers Final Chance for FMGE Aspirants

National Medical Commission
New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has invited applications for Eligibility Certificates, which are mandatory for foreign medical graduates to appear in the screening test i.e. Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE).
The move comes in continuation of the public notice dated 6th March 2025, whereby the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB), NMC decided to grant an additional opportunity for candidates who could not apply for the Eligibility Certificate earlier due to technical issues.
Keeping in view the career prospects of the applicants, the EMRB, NMC has decided to give an additional opportunity to the candidates who were not able to submit their applications earlier for issuance of the Eligibility Certificate. Accordingly, the applications may be submitted through the National Medical Commission's website as per the schedule given below:
Processes | Timelines |
Online Submission of Application | 22nd April, 2025 (10:00 AM Onwards) |
Last Date for Submission of Application | 06th May. 2025 (Till 06:00 PM) |
Note: Incomplete applications in any form will not be processed and shall be summarily rejected and EMRB, NMC shall not be responsible in this regard. Thereafter the portal for applying the application shall be closed | |
"It is advised that the candidates may not wait for the last date to apply and should submit their applications as early as possible. It may also be noted that the issuance of an Eligibility Certificate involves multiple checks to ascertain eligibility in accordance with the provisions of the regulations in vogue. The candidates should fill the application form scrupulously in order to avoid unnecessary to & fro movement of the application to resolve the deficiencies," the notice clearly stated
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that despite completing all the required procedures in this regard, several candidates were facing problems in obtaining the mandatory eligibility certificate from the Apex Medical Commission. Even the FMGs who applied in 2021, 2022, and earlier months of 2023 were facing the problem.
Their applications were pending at some level and they were not getting the certificates. Therefore, they were missing their chances to appear in the FMGE test.
Previously, the Union Minister of State for Health, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar addressed the issue of FMGs and informed the Lok Sabha that the delay in issuing eligibility certificates to the FMGs occurs due to delay in the validation of documents submitted by the candidates, verification of admission letter from the foreign medical institutions.
Candidates are advised to watch their email ids and online portal regularly for updates.
