MUHS Invites Online Applications for PhD Entrance Test 2024-25: Know All Details Here

Maharashtra- Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) is inviting online applications for PhD Entrance Examination in the respective subject of Research under the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurveda & Unani, Homeopathy, Allied Health Sciences (Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) and Interdisciplinary/Interpathy Subjects.

Candidates are required to apply online only through the university website along with the prescribed fee, which will be payable online on or before 31 January 2025. In this regard, MUHS has released an information brochure giving details of eligibility criteria, payment of fee, pattern of examination, mode of selection, subject-wise and category-wise vacancies and list of minority and women colleges etc.

ELIGIBILITY

A candidate, who fulfils the following criteria, shall be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test, namely-

1 The candidate should be a citizen of India.

2 The candidate should study and pass the course(s) leading to the award of a PG degree in respective branches recognized by respective councils and the Government of India and affiliated to any University established by Law.

3 The candidate willing to register for the PhD program as PhD Scholar, shall fulfil the eligibility conditions.

4 The candidates who are pursuing their Master's degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master's degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited may also apply for this test. However, they will be treated as eligible for the allotment of seats to PhD admission only after submission of the final year passed out result before the commencement of PhD seat allotment program. If the candidate is failed/unable to submit his final year passed out result, performance in PhD. Entrance Test (PET) 2024-25 will not be considered for PhD admission for this academic year and they will be treated as disqualified.

REGISTRATION FEES

All the Candidates need to pay the Entrance Test Registration fee (Non-refundable) of Rs. 5500/- for Open Category and Rs. 3850/- for reserved Category candidates by payment Gateway mode only.

IDENTITY VERIFICATION

ln the examination hall, the Admit Card along with the following original of the candidate's photo identity should be shown to the invigilator for verification. The candidate's identity will be verified with respect to his/her details on the Admit Card, in the Attendance List and requisite documents submitted. lf identity of the candidate is in doubt the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the Examination.

1 PAN Card.

2 Indian Passport.

3 Driving License.

4 Voter's Cards.

5 Bank Passbook with Photograph.

6 Photo identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead along with a photograph

7 Photo identity proof issued by a people’s representative on official letterhead along with a photograph.

8 Recent identity card issued by a recognized College.

9 College Aadhar.

10 E-Aadhaar Card print with a photograph.

11 Photo Identity Card (of Central Govt. or State Govt. only).

STEPS TO FILL OUT APPLICATION FORM

STEP 1- FillApplication Form.

STEP 2- Add Qualification Details.

STEP 3- Add Experience Details.

STEP 4- Paid Application Fee Online.

STEP 5- Submit and Print Application Form.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

1 Candidate should have a valid e-mail ID and correct mobile number.

2 Before filling Online Application Form candidate must possess the required criteria and educational qualifications.

3 Candidate shall submit only one application form, if a candidate submits more than one application then, the previous application will be rejected and the latest application submitted by the candidate shall be considered.

4 Eligible Candidates seeking admission to the PhD program must submit their application to the University online mode only by visiting the University website on or before,"31st January 2025 at 23:59 Hrs (midnight).

5 For any modification in the online application, the candidate has to submit One Time Password (OTP) after entering a valid E-mail address. The candidate can modify his application before online submission.

6 Once the applicant has submitted his or her online application form by pressing the "SUBMIT" button, then there will not be any scope to change the online data.

7 Candidate must submit the hard copy of the printed online application form with self-attested all necessary documents as prescribed by the University on or before[O toLt2A25 by post or in person.

8 The application must be highlighted as "APPLICATION FOR PhD ENTRANCE TEST (PET)-2024-25" on the top side of the envelope. Incomplete applications, in any respect, shall be rejected and no complaint or queries shall be entertained in this regard, therefore, it is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the application for the PET is complete in all respects and is supported by necessary attachments.

9 The admission of the Candidates for PhD Degree shall be on the basis of the Merit of Entrance test conducted by the University.

10 The in-service Candidates applying for full-time/part-time PhD programs shall have to submit a "No Objection Certificate" from their employer in the prescribed format as the case may be.

11 Reservation policy will be followed for admission as per the existing rules of the State Government. Jh" Physically Disabled (PwD) candidates may claim reservation by producing a valid certificate to that effect issued by the competent authority. There will be 5% seats reserved for persons with disabilities (PwD).

PATTERN AND SYLLABUS FOR THE ENTRANCE TEST (PET 2O24-25)

1 Entrance Test shall be conducted in offline mode only.

2 The Entrance Test will consist of two question papers each of 60 minutes of duration.

3 The Syllabus of Paper- ll shall be based on Post Graduate Specialization in Health Science of concerned subject applied for research by the candidate.

4 There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

5 All questions are compulsory.

6 Re-evaluation and Photocopy facility for PET is not available and requests for the same will not be accepted.

7 There will be no grace marks for the Entrance Test. The language of the entrance examination shall be English only.

Subject Knowledge Test (50 MCQ each of 2 marks).

ISSUANCE OF ADMIT CARD

Admit Cards for PET-2024-25 appearing candidates will be made available on the University website '15 days before the examination date and will not be sent to individuals by post/e-mail. For downloading the Admit Card, the candidate is required to log into the University website using the Username and password provided at the time of submission of the application. lt shall be the responsibility of the candidate to download the Admit Card. Candidates have to come with this printout of the Admit Card at the time of the Entrance Test. Candidates without Admit Cards will not be allowed to enter the Examination hall. Details of the date of examination, time and venue shall be informed on the Admit Card provided for the Entrance Test (PET 2024-25).

Meanwhile, MUHS has also released the subject and category-wise seat matrix for PhD Admission 2024. As per the seat matrix, a total of 933 seats are vacant for PET 2024-25. Out of these, 176 seats are vacant for Medical Faculty, 249 seats for Dental Faculty, 61 seats for Homeopathy Faculty, 370 seats for Ayurveda Faculty, 07 seats for Interdisciplinary Faculty and 70 seats for Allied Faculty.

Moreover, there are also a total of 5 minority and women colleges, where PhD Entrance Test (PET) 2024-25 will be conducted. Out of these, 3 are Jain minority i.e. Seth Govindaraj Raoji Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Smt. K.B. Abad Homeopathic Medical College and Shri R.P. Chordia Hospital and D.K.M.M. Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital. In addition, there are 2 women's colleges i.e. Sadhu Vaswani College of Nursing and Z.Y.M. Unani Medical College.
