New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the final window for candidates to confirm, correct, or update their bank account details for the refund of the NEET UG 2026 examination fee paid for the cancelled exam held on May 3, 2026.

The one-time facility, available from June 25 to June 30, 2026 (11:55 PM), also allows candidates who had earlier opted for "No Refund" to revise their choice and claim the refund. NTA said the initiative aims to ensure that every eligible candidate receives the refund directly into the correct bank account before the refund process is completed.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination on 21 June 2026 across the country in a smooth and incident free manner. Approximately 20 lakh candidates appeared in the examination. NTA is currently working on finalisation of the results, which will be declared at the earliest.

"As candidates are aware, NTA had committed to refund the examination fee paid by all candidates in view of the cancellation of the NEET (UG) 2026 examination held on 03 May 2026. For this purpose, candidates were requested to furnish their bank account details on the dedicated NTA portal so that the refund amount could be credited directly to their accounts. When representations were received regarding incorrect entries of bank account numbers and IFSC codes by some candidates, NTA reopened the window for correction of bank details at the time of downloading of Admit Cards, so that candidates could update or correct their details while downloading their Admit Cards," the notice stated.
"NTA acknowledges that, since the said window was made available in the days immediately preceding the examination, the priority of most candidates at that point of time was downloading the Admit Card. While approximately 19 lakh candidates have already updated and confirmed their bank account details, a small number of candidates could not complete the updation of bank details in the process. NTA has also received representations from some candidates who had earlier opted for "No Refund" and now wish to revise their option. With a view to ensure that no candidate is inconvenienced and that every eligible candidate has a fair chance to receive the refund, NTA has decided to provide one final opportunity to all candidates to view, confirm, correct or update their bank account details on the NTA portal," it read.
What candidates will see on the portal
On logging in, candidates will be presented with the bank account details already submitted by them. Candidates may proceed in any one of the following ways:
• If the details displayed are correct: the candidate may simply tick the checkbox provided on the screen confirming that the Bank Account Number and IFSC Code displayed are correct and that they wish to receive the refund in the said account.
• If the details are incorrect, or were not submitted earlier: the candidate may enter or update the Bank Account Number and IFSC Code afresh on the portal.
• If the candidate does not wish to claim the refund: the candidate may select the option of "No Refund", in which case no refund shall be processed by NTA.
Candidates who had earlier opted for "No Refund" and now wish to receive the refund may also revise their option within the same window.
Schedule of the Final Window
• Opening of Window: 25 June 2026
• Closing of Window: 30 June 2026 (11:55 PM)
Security Measure
To ensure the security of candidates' financial information, access to the portal shall be available only after successful OTP based Two Factor Authentication (2FA) through the candidate's registered mobile number.
Step by Step Process for Candidates
• Visit NTA website and click on the link provided for "Bank Account Details Confirmation / Updation".
• Login using your Application Number and Password.
• Complete the OTP based authentication on your registered mobile number.
• Click the bank account details button on screen and choose one of the following:
• Confirm the existing details by ticking the checkbox, and clicking on the Confirm bank details Button OR
• Update the details by clicking on the click here link and thereafter entering the correct Beneficiary Name, Bank Account Number, Re-enter Bank Account Number, Bank Name and IFSC Code, OR opt for "No Refund" if you do not wish to claim the refund.
• While editing upload a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque or the first page of the bank passbook showing the account number and IFSC code if available.
• Submit the form
• Important Advisory to Candidates
Candidates are strongly advised to exercise utmost care while entering or confirming their bank account details. The refund will be transferred by NTA strictly to the Bank Account Number and IFSC Code furnished and confirmed by the candidate on the portal. NTA shall not be responsible for refunds credited to incorrect accounts on account of wrong, incomplete or unverified entries made by the candidate.
• Ensure that the bank account is active and stands in the name of the candidate or their parents/family (or, where applicable, in the joint name of the candidate).
• Do not share your login credentials, OTP or bank details with any third party. NTA shall never call or message candidates asking for OTP or passwords.
• Requests for any change in bank account details received after closure of this window shall not be entertained.
"NTA is committed to processing the refunds at the earliest and requests the full cooperation of all candidates in completing this exercise within the stipulated period, so that the refund amount can be credited to the eligible candidates in a timely manner,"the agency said.
