NEET Counselling: BFUHS restores Punjab quota candidature of 2 students, debars 1

While the university has restored the candidature of two previously debarred candidates after verification of their records, it has debarred one additional candidate for simultaneously applying under the State Quota in Uttar Pradesh.

Both notices were issued as part of BFUHS’s ongoing scrutiny of candidates seeking admission under Punjab’s State Quota for MBBS and BDS admissions.

Through one of its notices, BFUHS said it had received representations from candidates who had earlier been debarred from Punjab State Quota consideration. After verifying their records with the concerned State authorities, the university restored the candidature of 2 candidates for the 85% Punjab State Quota.

Both candidates had earlier been linked with State Quota applications in Karnataka. Following verification, BFUHS has now allowed them to be considered again for Punjab State Quota seats.

However, the university has clarified that restoration of candidature does not itself guarantee admission. The candidates will still have to fulfil all other applicable eligibility conditions, counselling rules and regulations.

In another notice, an additional candidate was debarred from consideration against the 85% Punjab State Quota seats for the 2026-27 academic session.

According to the university, the candidate was found to have applied for admission under the Punjab State Quota while simultaneously applying for counselling or admission under the State Quota of Uttar Pradesh.

BFUHS said the action was taken in accordance with Clause 18 of the Government of Punjab notification dated July 10, 2026, which lays down the conditions for candidates seeking admission under the Punjab State Quota.

The university has once again warned candidates that if anyone is found to have applied for State Quota seats in more than one State or Union Territory, apart from Punjab, their provisional allotment may be cancelled immediately.

BFUHS added that such candidates may also face any further action permissible under the applicable law, rules, regulations or admission prospectus.
