NEET MDS 2026: MCC releases final seat matrix, 1,665 seats up for grabs

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the final seat matrices for the NEET MDS Counselling for the academic year 2026-27.
The three separate matrices give candidates institute-wise, speciality-wise, quota-wise and category-wise seat availability before they begin arranging their preferences for postgraduate dental admissions.
According to the matrix, a total of 1,665 MDS seats are vacant across the All India Quota (AIQ), Deemed Universities and institutional quotas of Central Universities, including Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and IP University.
Of the total seats, a total of 1,158 seats are available in Deemed Universities. The final AIQ matrix contains 469 seats, while another 38 seats have been listed under the IP/DU/BHU/AMU matrix.
The AIQ matrix distributes its 469 seats across Open, EWS, OBC, SC, ST and applicable PwD categories. The AIQ matrix covers government and other participating dental institutions across the country. The matrix also makes category distribution clear. For MDS aspirants, the release is particularly important as the matrices spell out where seats are available in popular dental specialities.
