New Delhi: With the costlier application form, the NEET PG 2021 is having another major change for the PG medical aspirants this year.

This year, the MBBS pass-outs intending to pursue MD, MS, PG Diploma courses will have 200 objective questions to answer in the prestigious entrance test. Earlier, 300 questions divided into three sections were asked in the exam.

The number of questions has been reduced to 200 from 300. Till last year, the NEET PG exam was divided into three sections - A, B, and C with 50, 100, and 150 questions in each, respectively. However, there are no such sections in NEET PG 2021 exam.

It is anticipated that with this major change in the exam pattern, the NEET PG entrance test will be lengthy in comparison to the previous year exam papers.

As per section 5.3 in the NBE NEET PG information bulletin, "The examination shall be a multiple-choice question delivered using computers network (CBT) as per scheme prescribed. The exam comprises 200 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in English language only. Time allotted is 3 hrs 30 min."

NEET-PG is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses as per Section 61(2) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 read with 10 (D) of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. No other entrance examination, either at the state or the Institution level, shall be valid for entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses. Qualifying NEET-PG is mandatory for entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses under various Universities/ Institutions in the country. NEET PG is mandatory even for foreign nationals seeking admission in medical courses in India.

NEET PG 2021 will be held on April 18 for admission to 10,821 Master of Surgery (MS) seats, 19,953 Doctor of Medicine (MD) seats, and 1,979 PG Diploma seats offered by 6,102 government, private, deemed and central universities.

The registration process has already started and the window will close on March 15, 2021. Candidates are requested to register with the NBE till then.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the application form for the prestigious PG medical entrance exam, NEET PG 2021 this year is costlier than ever. The examination fee for NEET PG 2021 has been increased from Rs. 3,750 to Rs 5,015 (including GST) for general aspirants, while SC/ST and PwD candidates' fee has been increased from Rs 2,750 to Rs 3,835 (including GST).
