NEET PG Counselling 2021: KEA issues notice for mop-up round candidates, details

Karnataka: Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has announced the details related to the Mop-Up round for PG Medical courses.

KEA conducts NEET PG counselling for admission to 50% state quota and 100% private colleges seats. Counselling will have 2 main rounds. The mop-up round is conducted if any seats are left vacant after round 2.

As per the notice, the Mop-Up round will be conducted for all categories of available seats and for the seats that remained vacant/cancelled after the round 2 allotments.

Eligibility criteria for Mop-Up round –

1. Not joined candidates of rounds 1 or 2
2. Not joined candidates of mop-up round of AIQ including Counseling for deemed universities (subject to conditions if any, stipulated by GOI).
3. Candidates not allotted clinical seats in the round of state counselling.
4. Candidates allotted pre or para clinical seats for clinical seats only. However, in case they have already joined the allotted college, they will not be allowed to participate in the mop-up round.

KEA has notified that the counselling schedule and the seat matrix will be published shortly on the website. Candidates are therefore requested to keep a track of the website for updates.

The candidates who have joined the allotted seat in round 1 or 2 of the AIQ will not be eligible to participate in the state counselling. There is no choice selection in round 2; hence, candidates who get allotment in round 2 have to compulsorily report to the allotted college as the seat allotment is based on the priority of options as entered by the candidates.

Candidates should note that not reporting to the allotted college should not be presumed as seat surrender to KEA. This will be considered blocking the seat, attracting a penalty. Government shall initiate legal action in accordance with law against those candidates who fail to take admission in the college allotted in round 1 or round.
