NEET PG: Telangana medicos seek immediate intervention over AIQ resignation, state joining deadlines
New Delhi: Raising concerns over the ongoing postgraduate medical counselling process, specifically regarding the All India Quota seats resignation and joining deadlines for the State quota seats, the National Eligibility Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) students from Telangana have sought immediate intervention of the authorities.
As per the doctors under the Telangana Junior Doctors Association, on December 15, 2025, the students approached T-JUDA, following which continuous follow-ups were made.
The latest information received revealed that the KNRUHS Round-1 reporting dates are likely to be extended, and an official notification in this regard is expected shortly. Simultaneously, the AIQ registration portal has been opened and will remain active until 20th December 2025, according to a recent release from the association.
T-JUDA has expressed its appreciation to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and KNRUHS for proactively understanding student concerns and taking steps to ensure a smoother counselling process.

However, it also pointed out that a critical issue still remained unresolved. It highlighted that several Telangana students had joined postgraduate seats through AIQ Round-1 counselling. During the period when the AIQ resignation window was opened and extended, the KNRUHS seat matrix and counselling schedule had not been released, leading to uncertainty and preventing many students from resigning their AIQ seats.
After the results for the Telangana State Round-1 counselling were announced, several students had been allotted better and preferred institutes within the State. The association pointed out that unfortunately, such students are now unable join these seats due to the closure of the AIQ resignation portal. With the last date for reporting fixed as 18th December 2025, students are experiencing severe stress, confusion, and academic uncertainty.
Therefore, the affected students are demanding immediate reopening of the AIQ resignation window by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), and an extension of the Telangana State PG joining/reporting dates, to ensure students are not unfairly denied their rightful opportunity.
T-JUDA stressed that the students are not seeking any special privileges, but only a fair and equitable chance to participate in their state counselling process without facing academic loss due to procedural delays.
