NEET PG Transparency Plea to be Heard by Supreme Court on August 3

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has scheduled the pleas raising concern over the transparency in the NEET-PG examination process for a hearing on August 3.
These pleas particularly sought the disclosure of answer keys and evaluation methods. Taking up the matter for brief consideration on Monday, the Apex Court bench comprising Justices K Vinod Chandran and NV Anjaria listed it for further hearing on August 3.
One of the pleas was filed through advocate Tanvi Dubey. It challenged the lack of clarity in the NEET PG evaluation process and sought several directions to the National Board of Examinations (NBE), which is responsible for conducting the NEET-PG examination.
In the plea, one of the demands is for the release of question papers and corresponding answer keys to the candidates, along with details of which questions were marked correct or incorrect during the assessment. Further, the plea also requested for a mechanism for rechecking or revaluation in cases where candidates suspected scoring errors.

Apart from this, the plea also sought provisions allowing students to raise objections against the disputed questions or answers and called for the establishment of a transparent and accountable evaluation framework for both current and future NEET-PG exams. It also highlighted that the current opaque system erodes the trust in the credibility of the examination and violates the rights of the aspirants.
NBE holds the National Eligibility-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) examination for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma Medical Courses at the medical colleges across the country. NEET PG is a computer-based test that includes 200 multiple-choice questions based on the MBBS curriculum.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that multiple pleas were filed before the Apex Court addressing different aspects of the NEET PG Examination. Apart from the challenge against the two-shift examination pattern and the normalisation method, the candidates from NEET PG 2024 and NEET PG 2025 had also demanded transparency and fairness in the exam. Their demands also included the release of the NEET PG question paper and answer keys.
Earlier, while considering the issue of two shifts, the Supreme Court gave its verdict against it and asked NBE to make arrangements to hold the exam in a single shift.
Consequently, NBE announced that the NEET PG 2025 examination would be conducted on August 03, 2025 in a single shift. Previously, while announcing the judgment on the two-shift exam pattern, the Supreme Court bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta and NK Anjaria had also addressed the other grievances raised by the petitioners regarding NBE's refusal to provide answer sheets and question papers despite court orders.
Clarifying that the bench was not examining that issue at that stage, the Court had further added that the issue related to the second relief claim would be considered after the examinations are concluded.
