New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued an advisory directing hospitals and institutes to promptly update the reporting and joining status of candidates allotted DrNB Super Speciality seats through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) counselling process for NEET SS 2025 admissions.

Timely updating of candidate status on the official NBEMS portal is essential to ensure transparency and proper tracking of admissions to DrNB Super Specialty courses.

Document Verification at the time of reporting/joining of the candidate: All NBEMS-accredited hospitals are required to verify the prescribed original documents at the time of joining/reporting. Hospitals must ensure the fulfilment of eligibility criteria by the candidate for admission to the allotted seat, as detailed in the information bulletin.

The medical examination of the candidate shall be conducted by the Medical Board of the concerned NBEMS-accredited hospitals. Only those candidates found medically fit shall be allowed to report/join the course.

Verification of Annual Course Fee: It is mandatory for candidates reporting/joining NBEMS seats to pay the 1st-year annual course fee to NBEMS through the dedicated portal of NBEMS.

The hospitals must verify the fee receipt produced by the candidate before permitting reporting/joining of the candidate. In case of non-submission of the fee, the allotted seat shall be treated as vacant and carried forward to the next round of counselling. The reporting/joining status must be updated accordingly on the Intra-MCC portal. The hospitals may note that the timelines prescribed by MCC have to be strictly adhered to. Please do not communicate NBEMS for relaxation in the prescribed timelines.

Intra-MCC Portal: It is mandatory for all NBEMS-accredited hospitals to update the reporting/joining status of candidates on the Intra-MCC portal within the stipulated time prescribed by MCC. Failure to do so will result in the seat being carried forward to the next round. Institutes must also review their seat positions before each round to avoid excess allotment.

The NBEMS Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR) shall remain INACTIVE for hospitals until all rounds of counselling are concluded. This portal is meant for the candidates and the hospitals to submit their joining status and documents to NBEMS after all rounds of the counselling are over. Hospitals will gain access to OPJR only after completion of all rounds. The final reporting/joining intimation of candidates to NBEMS shall be furnished through the OPJR after completion of all rounds of counseling.

Start Date of NBEMS Training: Candidates must report/join their NBEMS training within the reporting/joining window of the respective counselling round as published by MCC. No extension in the date of reporting/joining shall be permitted. For candidates who get upgraded, the training period will be considered from the date of reporting/joining the upgraded seat. If the seat is not upgraded, the training will be counted from the date of start of training i.e. the candidate starts his/her duties as a resident doctor.

Inservice doctors: Candidates who are employed with central govt./state govt./ railways/PSU/ESI or any other govt. organization should ensure that they have no- objection certificate including study leave / relieving from their parent organization at the time of joining the NBEMS course. The joining shall only be considered after being relieved from the parent organization. Any training undertaken before being relieved shall be considered NULL and VOID.

For further clarification regarding the counselling process, the medicos can contact MCC at their website.

For queries regarding payment/refund of annual course fee, the medicos can contact NBEMS through its Communication Web Portal.
