NEET SS Counselling 2022: MCC issues notice on Choice filling schedule
New Delhi : The Medical Counselling Committee has issued a notice stating that the schedule for choice filling round for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) seats will be uploaded soon.
The notification came after the Tamil Nadu government has been directed by the Supreme Court to allocate 50 per cent of the NEET Super Speciality seats to in-service candidates.
"This is in reference to the of Round-1 of SS counselling 2022 for which Registration was started as per scheduled i.e from 22.11.2022. However, Choice Filling was kept in abeyance as per the directions of Hon'ble High Court of Judicature at Madras dated 18.11.2022 in W.P No. 30666 of 2022," said the MCC notice.
As per the order issued by Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated 02.12.2022 in W.P (C) No. 53/2022 N. Karthikeyan & Ors. Vs. The State of Tamil Nadu & Ors. the Hon'ble Court has issued fresh directions as under:
"We therefore, permit the State of Tamil Nadu to fill in the seats reserved on the basis of G.O No. 462 dated 07.11.2020 within a period of 15 days from today. On the 16th day from today, the State of Tamil Nadu will inform the Union of India with regard to all the seats which remain unfilled from the in service category, which shall be permitted to be filled in by the Union of India, on the basis of All India merit list."
In view of the above directions the Choice Filling for Round-1 will be opened as per schedule on MCC website (www.mcc.nic.in) which will be uploaded soon. However, the seats of in service category of Tamil Nadu state which remain unfilled will be included in Round-2 of SS Counselling2022 to be conducted by MCC of DGHS, the notice added.
