NEET SS counselling 22 Registration begins, MCC notifies on seat allotment delay
New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has informed about the commencement of Round 1 of NEET SS counselling 2022 which was scheduled to begin from 22nd November.
In its notice, the MCC has mentioned that as per the directions of Hon'ble High Court of Judicature at Madras dated 18.11.2022 in W.P No. 30666 of 2022, the Hon'ble Court has directed to delay the seat allotment for Round-1 of SS Counselling 2022 by 10 days to enable the parties to approach the Hon'ble Supreme Court for clarification. In the meantime Registration process for Round-1 can be started.
The relevant excerpt of the order is as under:
"In order to enable the parties to approach the Hon'ble Supreme Court, 10 days time is granted. Till such time, if the Central Authorities want to go ahead with the counselling as scheduled by them to have the registration of candidates, they can go ahead with the same provided no final allotment orders be given to any candidates encroaching upon the 50% of seats reserved for in service candidates in Super Specialty courses available in the Government Medical Colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu for the academic year 2022-23 as per G.O Ms. No. 462 issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu"
In view of the above orders the Registration for Round-1 is being opened as per schedule. However, the seat allotment will be done as per further directions from the Hon'ble High Court of Madras/ Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the MCC stated.
Candidates are advised to stay in touch with MCC website (www.mcc.nic.in) for latest updates.
As per the schedule, the NEET SS counselling round 1 registration process will commence on November 22. Candidates will be able to register for round 1 till November 28. The first seat allotment result will be announced on December 1. Candidates have to report to the allotted colleges from December 2 to 7.
The NEET SS round 2 registration process will commence on December 9 and will remain open till December 14. The round 2 first-seat allotment result will be released on December 17. Candidates have to report to the allotted college from December 18 to 24.
