MBBS: KNRUHS opens free exit window for candidates admitted upto round 2, penalty after October 8

Telangana- Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Telangana, has opened the free-exit window for candidates admitted to MBBS courses under the Competent Authority Quota for the academic year 2026-27, allowing eligible students to discontinue their allotted seats without penalty.
According to the notification issued by the University in this regard, the facility is available to candidates who have been admitted up to the second phase of counselling under the Competent Authority Quota in medical colleges affiliated with KNRUHS.
Candidates wishing to surrender their MBBS admission can avail the free-exit facility up to 2:00 PM on October 8, 2026.
To discontinue the course, candidates must submit an application to the Principal of their respective medical college. Those who complete the process by the stipulated deadline may leave the course without paying any penalty.
However, KNRUHS has made it clear that candidates opting for free exit will not be eligible to participate in any further rounds of MBBS counselling under the Competent Authority Quota for the academic year 2026-27.
Candidates have been advised to take note of the deadline before deciding to surrender their seat. The University stated that the applicable penalty clause will come into effect for candidates discontinuing their MBBS course after 2:00 PM on October 8, 2026, in accordance with Government Orders.
KNRUHS has also issued specific directions to the Principals of affiliated medical colleges regarding candidates who opt for free exit.
The colleges have been instructed to immediately return all original certificates as well as the entire fee paid by candidates who surrender their seats within the free-exit period.
Principals must also upload the details of such candidates to the admission portal by 2:30 PM on October 8, 2026, without fail.
