NTRUHS announces special stray vacancy round for BDS admissions 2025, web options portal to close soon

Andhra Pradesh: Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Andhra Pradesh, has issued notifications announcing the conduct of a Special Stray Vacancy Round of web-based counselling for admission into the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course for the academic year 2025-26, covering both Management Quota and Competent Authority Quota seats.

The decision has been taken in view of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) Special Round schedule for the academic year 2025, as notified by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), and aims to fill vacant BDS seats arising due to non-joining of candidates in previous counselling rounds.

MANAGEMENT QUOTA

According to the notification, under the Management Quota, candidates can exercise web options for BDS seats from 2:00 PM on December 29, 2025, to 2:00 PM on January 2, 2026, through the counselling portal. A total of 31 BDS seats are available across private and minority dental colleges, including seats under Category-B (Management) and Category-C (NRI).

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

All the candidates whose names are present in the Final Merit Position and subsequent eligible lists on the University's official Website and not holding any seat (MBBS/BDS both under State Quota or All India Quota) are only eligible to exercise web options as per the schedule.

NOT ELIGIBLE

1 Candidates already allotted and joined a seat (MBBS / BDS) in All India Quota / State Counselling/ Deemed University.

2 Candidates who will be allotted under the Competent Authority Quota of Special Stray Vacancy Round of Dr NTR UHS, Vijayawada.

3 Candidates were found in the list shared by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) after the Special Stray Vacancy Round.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

As already notified, the eligible candidates who are willing to participate in the Stray Round of counselling under Management Quota have to pay a Refundable Security Deposit Amount of Rs 2,00,000/- through online mode before exercising web options, subject to the following conditions-

1 Refundable Security Deposit of candidates who do not join the seats allotted to them in the Stray Round, if any, will be forfeited.

2 If the candidate joins the allotted seat, the Security Deposit amount will be refunded to the candidate after the closure of admissions.

3 If the candidate is not allotted a seat, the Security Deposit amount will be refunded to the candidate after the closure of admissions. Exercising of Options for BDS Stray Vacancies From 02.00 PM on 29-12-2025 upto 02.00 PM on 02.01.2026.

4 Also, the Security Deposit will be forfeited if the admission gets cancelled for any reason.

5 The candidates who have paid the Security Deposit of Rs. 3,00,000/- for the MBBS course and not allotted any seat can also exercise web options for the BDS course without payment of Rs 2,00,000/-.

UNIVERSITY FEE

The selected candidates have to download the allotment order by paying the following University fee through the Payment Gateway by using the online payment method. (Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking) and report to the Principal of the allotted college along with the allotment order and original certificates before the date specified in the allotment order and pay the prescribed tuition fee at the college.

The following is the tuition fee for the academic year 2025-26 in respect of the Category- B & C seats in Private Un-aided Non-Minority and Minority Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh for 4 years and the selected candidates have to pay the tuition fee at the respective colleges at the time of admission.

OPTIONS

1 Subject to payment of the security deposit amount, the eligible candidates who are aspiring to join under the Management Quota under this phase have to exercise prioritised web options as per the schedule notified.

2 A candidate has to exercise options for the interested Dental colleges in order of priority.

3 Candidates are instructed to be careful while exercising options on the web. One Time Password will be sent to the registered mobile and email at the time of entering and submitting web options.

4 The options once exercised are final. No request for change of options or order of college priorities will be entertained after the closure of the web options schedule.

5 Candidates are instructed to take the printout of the saved options.

INSTRUCTION TO THE CANDIDATES

1 Candidates are advised to go through the Prospectus / Regulations of Dr NTR UHS available on the website before exercising web options.

2 The allotments will be as per the prioritised options exercised by the candidates.

3 If Muslim Minority Candidates are not available, the seats will be allotted to Non-Muslim Minority Candidates in the Stray Vacancy Round of Counselling. Muslim Minority Candidates are also eligible for Management Quota seats in other Dental Colleges.

4 Candidates have to exercise options for Category - B seats and, if eligible, for Category - C (NRI) in order of priority of the colleges. Allotments will be made according to the order of preference in the web options exercised by the candidate and as per the rules.

6 Candidates will receive the message regarding allotment of a seat, if a seat is allotted.

7 Candidates are hereby informed that final verification of original certificates will be conducted at the college of admission and in case of any discrepancy, the provisional allotment will be cancelled and action will be initiated as per University Regulations.

8 Candidates who are allotted a seat in the Special Stray Round of counselling have to report to the allotted college compulsorily with all original certificates (freshly allotted), provisional allotment order, copy of final application, and pay the tuition fee and college fee. Such a candidate cannot resign from the seat allotted.

9 Candidates allotted a seat under NRI Quota should produce the relevant sponsorship Declaration from the NRI in Original along with supporting documents as specified in the Prospectus, at their respective colleges.

10 The University fee once paid shall not be refunded or adjusted to a future date under any circumstances.

11 Decision of the Competent Authority is final.

12 Dr NTR University of Health Sciences does not entertain or support seat blocking/ cancellation of BDS seats. In case any student is found involved in seat blocking, legal action will be initiated against such a candidate as per the rules.

COMPETENT AUTHORITY QUOTA

For State Quota (Competent Authority Quota) seats, candidates can exercise web options for BDS seats from today, i.e. December 30, 2025, 11:30 AM to January 1, 2026, 6:00 PM through the counselling portal. A total of 63 BDS seats are available under the Competent Authority Quota, which became vacant after the BDS CQ Stray Round.

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

Candidates present in the Provisional Final Merit List and not holding any seat either under State Quota (Competent Authority Quota or Management Quota) or All India Quota are only eligible to participate in this Special Stray Vacancy Round of Counselling.

NOT ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

1 Candidates who have already joined the MBBS / BDS Course under the State Quota (either Competent Authority Quota or Management Quota).

2 Candidates who are holding any seat (MBBS/BDS) under the All India Quota.

3 Candidates whose data was shared by the MCC were allotted under the Special Stray Vacancy Round.

4 Candidates found ineligible to pursue the course, if any.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

The eligible candidates who are willing to participate in the Special Stray Vacancy Round of counselling under the Competent Authority Quota have to pay a Refundable Security Deposit Amount of Rs 10,000/- through online mode before exercising web options, subject to the conditions-

2 If the candidate joins the allotted seat, the Security Deposit amount will be refunded to the candidate after the closure of admissions.

3 If the candidate is not allotted a seat, the Security Deposit amount will be refunded to the candidate after the closure of admissions. Exercising of Options for BDS Stray Vacancies From 02.00 PM on 29-12-2025 upto 02.00 PM on 02.01.2026.

4 Also, the Security Deposit will be forfeited if the admission gets cancelled for any reason.

UNIVERSITY FEE

The selected candidates have to pay the University fee of Rs 10,600/- through the payment Gateway by using the online payment method (Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking) for downloading the allotment order. The University fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

TUITION FEE

Rs 9,000/- per year in Government Dental Colleges, Rs 14,300/- per year for Category-A seats in Private Dental Colleges.

WEB OPTIONS

1 Onetime Web options exercised earlier will be treated as ‘Null & Void’.

2 Eligible candidates will have to exercise fresh web options for the Dental Colleges having BDS seats under the Special Stray Vacancy Round as per the seat matrix displayed on the University website.

3 A candidate has to exercise prioritised web options for only the interested Dental colleges in the order of priority as per his/her choice, which includes Special Categories, i.e. NCC and Sports & Games.

4 Exercising web options for all colleges is not compulsory

5 Candidates are instructed to be careful while exercising options on the web. One Time Password will be sent to the registered mobile and email at the time of entering and submitting web options.

6 The options once exercised are final. No request for change of options or order of college priorities will be entertained after the closure of the web options schedule.

6 Candidates participating in the Special Stray Vacancy Round will have to furnish an undertaking with respect to the allotment of seats at the time of exercising web options.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

1 Rule of reservation shall be followed as per the procedure.

2 If eligible candidates against special category (NCC / Sports & Games) seats are not available, the said seats will be added to respective categories and filled as per rules.

3 The general conversion procedure will be followed as notified.
