PGIMER opens admissions for MSc, Fellowship, doctoral courses July 2026 session, Entrance exam on May 31

Chandigarh: The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) has released the admission notification for MSc, MSc (MLT), Fellowship, Post Doctoral Fellowship courses for the July 2026 session, with the entrance examination scheduled to be held on May 31, 2026 in both morning and afternoon shifts.

IMPORTANT DATES

Start of M.Sc/M.Sc MLT online registration on Website: 06.04.2026

Application form closes: 05.05.2026

Computer Based Entrance Test: 31.05.2026

Expected date of declaration of result: 04.06.2026

Note*All the above-mentioned date are tentative in nature and may be subjected to change due to certain circumstances with the prior notice on PGI website.

APPLICATION AND EXAMINATION FEE

• SC/ST Category : Rs. 1200/- + Transaction Charges as applicable

• General /OBC/Sponsored Category: Rs. 1500/- + Transaction Charges as applicable.

• Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities (PwBD) Candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

All candidates are directed to deposit the above fees through online payment gateway available at M. Sc/M.SC MLT application portal w.e.f. 06.04.2026 to 05.05.2026.

MODE OF PAYMENT: Through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking (Payment through UPI may be avoided)

All applicants are advised to read the Prospectus and Instructions carefully before starting online registration and ensure that no column is left blank. In the event of rejection of the application form, no correspondence/request for reconsideration will be entertained.

Applicants are also advised to download and take a print of the Application form. They should retain a copy of Application form till the completion of Admission Process.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A. ELIGIBILITY

i) For Medical Fellowships: A candidate must have passed appropriate examination and hold the experience as per the table below.

For Nursing fellowship (Pediatric Critical Care Nursing)

Candidate must have B.Sc. or Post Basic with 1 year experience in Pediatrics or M.Sc. Pediatrics on or before 31st December/30th June for January and July session respectively.

For Nursing fellowship (Neonatal Nursing)

Candidate must have B.Sc.Nursing/ Post Basic Nursing with 1 year clinical/teaching experience in Pediatric or M.Sc. Pediatric/Child Health Nursing on or before 31st December/30th June for January and July session respectively.

ii) Must have either completed, or due to complete, two yearssenior residency in the concerned departmenton or before 31st December/30th June for January/July session respectively

iii) Must be registered with Central /State Medical Registration Council or Must be registered Nurse (R.N. & R.M.) or equivalent.

iv) Must be within the prescribed age limit as on 1st January/1stJuly for January / July session respectively as detail below:-

General category- 45 years

SC/ST candidates- 50 years

OBC candidates- 48 years

Ex-servicemen and Commissioned Officer including ECO, SSCO who have rendered or released on satisfactory assignment. 50 years Sponsored candidates from other State Governments No age limit. The Candidates applying for Fellowships and Post Doctoral Fellowships (PDF) courses should see the Admission Notice for seats of Fellowships /Post Doctoral Fellowship in various departments at the PGI website.
