Re-NEET for 1563 candidates Awarded With Compensatory Marks on June 23rd: NTA issues notice on re-exam, admit card, Know all details here
New Delhi- Through a public notice, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the re-conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate NEET (UG) – 2024 exam for the 1563 affected candidates. The re-exam will be held on 23rd June 2024 (Sunday) from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM. The result will be most likely to be declared by 30th June 2024.
According to the notice, as per the recommendations of the High Powered Committee, NTA has decided to re-conduct the NEET (UG) – 2024 examination on 23rd June 2024 for 1563 candidates who had experienced a loss of time during the originally scheduled examination on 05th May 2024 and were awarded the compensatory marks.
“The High Powered Committee was constituted and set up to examine the issue of grant of compensatory/grace marks to 1563 candidates as grievances had been raised in respect of the said action. The High Powered Committee after in-depth consideration of all relevant aspects submitted its recommendations/report which has been accepted by NTA”, stated in a Press release.
The press release further informed that the admit cards for these 1563 candidates will be issued later. Along with this, if the candidate appears in the examination again then his/her new scorecard will also be made available on the website after the examination.
The re-examination is valid for the following cases only-
1 The Score Cards of all affected (1563) candidates issued on 04 June 2024 will stand cancelled and thus withdrawn. The affected 1563 candidates will be informed of their actual Scores (without compensation), through their registered email IDs.
2 A re-examination will be conducted for the affected candidates (1563).
3 The result of those affected candidates (1563) who do not wish to appear for the reexamination, will be declared based on their actual marks (without compensation) obtained in the examination conducted on 05 May 2024.
4 The marks obtained by the candidates who will appear in the re-test will be considered and their marks based on examination on 05 May 2024 will be discarded.
The NEET (UG) - 2024 was conducted by the NTA on 05 May 2024 from 02:00 to 05:20 P.M. at 4750 Centres in 571 cities (including 14 cities abroad) for more than 24 lakh candidates. The result of the NEET (UG) – 2024 was declared on 04 June 2024.
Medical Dialogues yesterday reported that when the bench was considering the issue of granting grace marks to the candidates to compensate for loss of time, the Union Government and NTA informed the bench that they will cancel and withdraw the results of these 1563 candidates prepared based on the compensatory marks awarded to them.
These affected candidates will be notified about their actual scores obtained in the NEET UG 2024 exam held on 05.05.2024 and they will be given a choice of either retaining the original marks (without the compensatory marks) or appearing in a re-exam conducted by NTA likely on 23rd June. They further informed that the results of this option re-exam will be published before 30th June, 2024, so that the counselling for NEET UG 2024 can commence from July 6th, 2024.
