WB NEET PG counselling 2025: New seats added in round 2, round 1 seat surrender window reopens

Kolkata: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of West Bengal, has issued an important notice regarding state NEET PG Medical Counselling 2025, announcing the addition of new postgraduate seats in Round 2 and reopening the Round 1 seat surrender facility.

The notice was released on the official website of WBMCC. According to the notification, several newly sanctioned and enhanced PG medical seats have been included in the Round 2 seat matrix of WB NEET PG Counselling 2025 which are yet to get its formal LOP from NMC.

The DME clarified that the inclusion of these seats is based on a public notice issued by the NMC on November 27, 2025

"The LOPs for newly sanctioned/increased PG seats for AY 2025-26 are in the process of being issued. The counselling authorities need not wait for the LOP's from institutions to include them in the counselling process. The list uploaded in the website shall be considered as valid document for counseling process," the notice stated.

In another significant update, the notice states that the seat surrender facility for Round 1 candidates will be reopened on December 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The publication of list of eligible candidates for Round 2 choice fill up and the Round 2 seat matrix will be published after 5 pm of 17.12.2025 and the choice fill up for Round 2 will start from 6 pm of 17.12.2025 till 12 midnight of 18.12.2025. The rest of schedule shall remain same.

It is to be noted the LOPs for the enhanced / newly sanctioned PG seats are anticipated and the said seats would be subject to being formally approved by the NMC.
