MAMC Delhi directs strict NMC regulations compliance for PG exams eligibility, details

Delhi: The Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Delhi, has issued a circular directing all Heads of Departments and officials handling postgraduate examinations to ensure strict compliance with the National Medical Commission (NMC) Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023 and the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS), University of Delhi Ordinances 2024 while verifying eligibility for MD/MS, Diploma, DM and MCh examinations.
The circular, issued by the Academic Section of MAMC, follows a communication received from the Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, and outlines mandatory academic and training requirements that postgraduate students must fulfil before their examination forms are verified.
1 ELIGIBILITY FOR APPEARING IN EXAMINATION
Before verification of examination forms, it must be ensured that each PG student has fulfilled the following requirements as per NMC guidelines-
A ACADEMIC ACTIVITY (AT LEAST ONE)
i Poster/presentation at National/Zonal/State conference in concerned speciality.
ii Oral presentation at National/Zonal/State conference in concerned speciality.
iii One research paper published/accepted for publication in a journal of concerned speciality (first author).
B MENDATORY REQUIREMENTS
i Completion of Course in Research Methodology (BCBR).
ii Completion of Course in Ethics.
iii Completion of Course in Cardiac Life Support Skills.
iv Completion of Course in Good Clinical Practice / Good Laboratory Practice (as applicable).
v Completion of District Residency Programme (DRP) (MD/MS only).
vi Submission of thesis to the University through the college.
vii Fulfilment of attendance, training, and other requirements as per NMC norms.
2 THESIS SUBMISSION AND EVALUATION
i Thesis must be submitted within the notified schedule.
ii Examination forms of students who have not submitted a thesis shall not be verified under any circumstances.
All HODs shall verify the check list submit certified eligible lists in the Academic Branch. All other details are available on the FMSc website under MD/MS/Diploma/DM/M.Ch Ordinances 2024. This may be treated as the most urgent and ensured for strict compliance.
