Jhajjar: In an incident of ragging reported from the World College of Medical Sciences and Research in Jhajjar, six MBBS students have been expelled for three months after a junior medico complained of ragging from the seniors resulting in injuries.

He said, "My friends were assaulted by seniors after we opposed the ragging. I got six stitches on my head. The senior students were in a drunken state when the midnight incident occurred. They barged into my room and hit me hard for opposing ragging." Further, speaking to Tribune India, he said, "A hostel warden also supported the seniors instead of helping us."
The complainant said, "Senior students had barged into my room around 1 to 2am at night and hit me for opposing ragging. The incident took place in front of the hostel warden and a guard. The senior students were in a drunken state."
The complainant's brother further alleged that a complaint against ragging was earlier given to the college authorities but they did not take any action. The police registered the case under Sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC, reports the TOI.
Speaking to HT, College dean Dr JC Passey said that out of the six accused students, four have been expelled for three months and two for 45 days. The Jhajjar police station SHO Suraj Bhan stated that they have booked the six students and the hostel warden, and are currently investigating the case.
