Telangana Health Department permits nine medical colleges to start 12 BSc allied health sciences courses with 860 seats
Hyderabad: Bringing good news to the medical aspirants of the state, Department of Health, Medical and Family Welfare, Telangana issued a government order (GO) to start 12 medical BSc courses in nine medical colleges with an intake capacity of 860 seats from this academic year 2022-23.
Giving permission to the government medical colleges to start the first-year B.Sc courses, the state government made the announcement after issuing a NOC (No Objection Certificate) to the selected medical colleges and hospitals.
The new BSc medical course program will provide an opportunity for medical aspirants who wish to pursue a technical field within the health sciences at their preferred medical college.

As per a report in DC, the courses that will be offered at 9 medical colleges include Anaesthesia Technology, Operation Theatre Technology, Respiratory Therapy Technology, Renal Dialysis Technology, Neuroscience Technology, Critical care Technology, Radiology and Imaging Technology, Audiology and Speech Therapy, Medical Records Sciences, Optometric Technology, Critical Care, Cardiac and Cardiovascular Technology.
All the above-mentioned courses are allied health technical courses that will be introduced in Gandhi Hospital, Osmania General Hospital, Kakatiya Medical College, RIMS, Adilabad, Government Medical College Nizamabad, Government Medical College, Siddipet, Government Medical College, Nalgonda, Government Medical College, Suryapet and Government Medical College, Mahabubnagar.
However, the distribution of the seats at the mentioned medical colleges has been handed over to KNR University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, who will take necessary measures to come up with a framework and fill up the 860 B.Sc Allied Health courses.
Among the 860 seats, the breakdown is as follows: Gandhi Hospital (150); Osmania General Hospital (210); Kakatiya Medical College (130); RIMS, Adilabad (60); Government Medical College Nizamabad (110); Government Medical College, Siddipet (50); Government Medical College, Nalgonda (40); Government Medical College, Suryapet (40) and Government Medical College, Mahabubnagar (70).
