Tripura Medical College MBBS Exam results manipulated for money?- Probe demanded

Agartala: Alleging corruption, the Congress party has demanded an independent probe into the allegations of corruption in passing MBBS courses from society-run Tripura Medical College (TMC) affiliated with Tripura Central University.
As per UNI report, allegedly, a section of faculties and officials of TMC and Tripura University manipulated the exam results to collect a large sum of money. The racket reportedly runs to the extent of ensuring the successful completion of MBBS exams, which triggered a serious concern.
Referring to various media reports and inputs from TMC, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman and the health minister of the first BJP government in Tripura alleged that students are being asked to pay significant amounts to secure passing marks and said, “The integrity of the academic system is being compromised.”
According to report, a few officials and faculty members were involved in the financial malpractice, which has been going on for some time. Many students, fearing repercussions, have reportedly complied with these demands, while others have raised complaints with authorities.
A student, speaking on condition of anonymity, told UNI, "We are being forced to pay to pass exams. This is unfair and goes against the principles of education. Authorities must take strict action against those responsible."
However, police sources said that TMC administration was also aware of these allegations and are closely monitoring the situation. And, recently the Crime branch of Tripura police has launched an inquiry into the allegations.
