UP : State Medical College Principal Transferred for 'dereliction of duty'
Lucknow: Finding dereliction of duty on the part of the Principal of the Autonomous State Medical College in Hardoi, the State Government authorities on Saturdat removed her from her post and recommended disciplinary action against her.
This comes after the District Magistrate in Hardoi submitted a probe report in this regard and pointed out dereliction of duty on the part of the principal. Currently, the State has given the responsibility to Dr. Desh Deepak Tiwari, Principal of Pratapgarh Medical College.
Disciplinary action against the Principal shall be recommended by the Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow, who has been made the probe officer for this purpose.

As per the latest media report by Jagran, ever since Dr. Gupta assumed charge as the principal, she faced numerous controversies. While the principal tried to end the web of corruption spread in the hospital, the staff of the hospital opposed to her style of work. A few days ago, the doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital staged a sit-in protest against the principal and they also submitted a complaint report to the DM.
Accordingly DM Mangla Prasad Singh issued instructions to rectify the irregularities prevailing in the medical college and also inspected the hospital attached to the medical college. On the basis of his report that alleged dereliction of duty on the part of the principal, the State Health authorities have removed Dr Gupta from the post of the principal and transferred her.
Issuing an official order in this regard, the office of Alok Kumar, principal secretary of medical education stated, “Till the time action is decided, the principal will be attached to King George’s Medical University and the salary will be withdrawn from medical college in Hardoi," adds Hindustan Times.
