7 of 15 MD Paediatrics medicos fail practicals at Gandhi Medical College, KNRUHS to conduct inquiry on evaluation

Hyderabad: The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) will inquire into the evaluation process of MD Paediatrics practical examinations at Gandhi Medical College after seven of the 15 postgraduate students who appeared for the examination failed despite clearing the theory papers.
The matter was raised by the Gandhi Junior Doctors Association (JUDA), which submitted a representation to KNRUHS Vice Chancellor Dr K. Ramesh Reddy in Warangal, demanding a fair and transparent review of the evaluation process.
Responding to the representation, the Vice Chancellor assured the delegation that an inquiry would be conducted shortly. He also said that action would be taken against those found responsible if any irregularities or instances of unfair evaluation were established.

Further, Dr Ramesh Reddy assured the association that supplementary practical examinations for the seven unsuccessful candidates would be conducted at a different institution in late November or December 2026 and the examinations would be held by a fresh team of internal and external examiners who were not involved in the earlier evaluation, reports Deccan Chronicle.
Welcoming the assurances, JUDA called for the matter to be resolved within a fixed time period, safeguarding the academic interests and future careers of the affected postgraduate students.
Medical Dialogues had reported in 2025 that several final-year MD and MS students from the government and private medical colleges, under the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), were questioning the evaluation process after many students reportedly failed by a narrow margin. The agitation by the students was fueled after the Vice Chancellor of KNRUHS, Dr. PV Nanda Kumar Reddy, resigned from the post.
At that time, the students said there were gross discrepancies and irregularities in the evaluation process of the postgraduate (MD/MS) theory examinations held between October 7, 2025 and October 15, 2025. Such allegations were brought against the practical exams held between October 25 and October 30. After the exams, the results were declared on November 4.
