KNRUHS promotes BPT Physiotherapy students to next year without conduct of final exams with condition, Details
Telangana: The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has promoted the BPT (UG Physiotherapy) students to next year without conduct of the final examinations with a condition that they have to compulsorily appear for the said examination before final examination of the next year (Promoted year).
This comes after the University received several representations from Physiotherapy students to promote them to next year without conduct of the final examinations.
Accordingly, the University, considering the representation of the students promoted them to next year with the condition that they have to appear for the final examination of every year, subsequently to prevent loss of the academic year. Principals were informed to promote the students next year and conduct online classes.
Subsequently, University received one more representation dated 09.07.2021 from the students. The matter was placed before the Executive council of the University, Which is the highest authority of the University and the Executive council advised as follows:
1. Physiotherapy students may be promoted to next year but they have to compulsorily appear for final examination of that year before final examination of the next year (Promoted year).
2. The above decision was taken for the following reasons:
a. Physiotherapy is an important branch of Health Sciences dealing with patients.
b. Physiotherapy graduates will be practicing as consultants and treat the patients so, it is not proper on the part of the University to expose thesociety to physiotherapists with inadequate knowledge and training, jeopardizing the patients.
3. The matter has been taken to the Notice of the Government.
4. In pursuance, of Hon'ble High Court Orders in as communicated by the Standing council the representation of the students was examined once again and disposed off with the same decision already taken by the Executive council of the University. i.e.., "Physiotherapy students may be promoted to next year but they have to compulsorily appear for final examination of that year before final examination of the next year (Promoted year).
