Maharashtra: Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has invited applications from institutes seeking to open opening a new college, start new postgraduate courses, and increase intake capacity in health sciences for UG and PG courses for the academic year 2023-24.
As per u/s 64 (3) of MUHS Act 1998, the institute that desires to open a new college/start new postgraduate courses/increase intake capacity in health sciences for UG & PG courses from the academic year 2023-24 should submit the proposals in 2 copies in prescribed format along with the requisite fee. The proposal form should be submitted complete in all respect and the documents in separate 2 box files with flagging as mentioned in the checklist.
The institute will have to pay the fee in the form of DD of a Nationalized Bank / NEFT / RTGS / University E-payment Gateway drawn in favour of "The Registrar, MUHS Nashik" and payable at Nashik, to The Registrar, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The fee must be paid before the last day of October 2022 during office hours (6.15 pm) in the main Inward Department of University, Headquarters at Nashik in person only.
Institutes note that MUHS will reject incomplete applications. The last date to submit is 31st October 2022, and after that, no proposal will be accepted. Further, the proposals received by post/courier/email will not be accepted.
MUHS has asked the institutes who are applying for opening of new colleges/starting of new postgraduate courses/increase in intake capacity but could obtain essentiality/no objection certificate/government resolution from Maharashtra Government for the academic year 2023-24, to apply every year for revalidation of the proposal by paying revalidation fee as prescribed in affiliation fee notification.
The institute can keep revalidating its proposal for up to 5 years (i.e., 6 years from the date of recommendation of the proposal to the State Government). After 6 years, such proposals will be treated as closed and such institutes will have to apply afresh along with the prescribed fee. (as per revised fee Notification No. 42/2017).
The institutes who have received the consent of affiliation of the university for the opening of new college/starting new pg courses/increase in intake capacity, but could not obtain a letter of permission (LOP) from central government/central council/commission within 1 year from the date of its issuance, should apply for an extension of the consent of affiliation by paying fees as prescribed in fee notification up to 5 years. However, if they cannot receive permission within 6 years, the proposal will be treated as closed, and the institute will have to apply afresh along with the prescribed fee. (as per revised fee Notification No. 42/2017).
If the proposal is not recommended to the State Government by the MUHS, the fee will be refunded as per the provision mentioned under Fee Notification No.42/2017(revised). The proposal received before the due date and complete in all respect as per section 64 (3) of MUHS Act 1998 shall be forwarded to the State Government with a recommendation.
The institutes will have to follow the vacancy position of the concerned district as per the provision in the university perspective plan–2022-27 and submit a proposal to the university to avoid non-recommendation.
