RGUHS defers MBBS exams September 2020

Karnataka: Taking cognizance of the submissions of the student associations and medicos requesting for postponement of MBBS exams considering the pandemic, the authorities of Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences (RGUHS) have now deferred the MBBS exams September 2020.

The MBBS examinations were scheduled to be held this month. With the new orders in effect, the examinations have been now rescheduled on the 13th of October.

The authorities of RGUHS issued a notice stating that the 15th September 2020 scheduled MBBS examinations are postponed and rescheduled from 13th October 2020. The Fee Notification and Time Table will be hosted on the website at the earliest.

The notice also clarified that the authorities took the decision considering the submissions and representations from students and student associations who stated that appearing for the examinations from September will be difficult for them considering the pandemic condition. The varsity authorities have also instructed the directors and deans of several colleges to continue with their ongoing virtual classes to prepare the students for the exams.

The notice further added that "Directors/Dean/Principals of all the affiliated institutes are instructed to conduct online theory and practical/clinical classes for ongoing exam students and ensure the completion of theory and practicals/clinicals 15days prior to the commencement of the examination. Submit the compliance for the same."

Earlier this week, the university authorities decided to postpone the exam for the final year BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) medicos. With the MBBS and BDS exams being postponed the Bangalore Central University has also postponed the postgraduate exams.

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka a premier Health Science University in India was established on 1st June 1996 at Bangalore by the Govt. of Karnataka through its enactment of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka Act 1994 to encompass all the existing health science colleges and institutions which were earlier affiliated to the conventional universities in Karnataka with a purpose of ensuring proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training, and research in modern and Indians systems of medicine.
