Rohtak Varsity MBBS Exam Scam: Police Recover Rs 6 Lakh, Paper-Stitching Machine

Haryana- In the ongoing investigation into the MBBS exam scam at Pandit BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak (UHSR), the police have now recovered Rs 6 lakh, a paper stitching machine and two mobile phones from a university official named in the FIR lodged against 24 students and 17 employees.
The university official has been identified as Roshan Lal. DSP Dalip Singh, the investigating officer in the case, while talking to Tribune, said that cash and the machine had been seized from him. However, 3 accused including Roshan Lal are currently in jail.
According to a Tribune report, sources claimed that the cash was taken as a bribe from MBBS students of a private college to help them pass the exam by tampering with their answer sheets. The cash was kept at the house of accused Roshan Lal in his native village. He allegedly used some of the bribe money to build his house.
As per the sources, two phones were used to receive the leaked exam papers via WhatsApp. The exam papers were sent by another UHSR employee working as a programmer who charged Rs 30,000 per paper. The leaked paper was solved at the home of an employee, and the answer sheets were replaced with the original answer sheets, with the help of another employee posted in the privacy branch.
Moreover, the paper-stitching machine was used to replace the first page of the answer sheets, which contained details such as serial number, barcode and signature of the invigilator. This machine was reportedly provided by a carrier posted at the operating theatre of Rohtak PGIMS/UHSR in exchange for money. The machine was hidden in Roshan Lal's house to avoid detection.
After the matter came to light, an inquiry committee was formed under the chairmanship of Dr MK Garg, Director of Kalpana Chawla Medical College, Karnal. The committee also found that the stitching of some sheets had been tampered with.
