New Delhi: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to undergraduate medical courses is going to be held on May 05, 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced.

In a recent press release, NTA has released the examination calendar for the academic year 2024-2025. The Press Release dated 14.09.2023 contains information about some major examinations that are going to be conducted by the NTA. The details that have been released by NTA include the name and mode of examinations along with the date when the examination is going to be held.

The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier Testing Organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests in order to assess the competence of candidates for admission to premier Higher Educational Institutions.

The list of the examinations for which the details have been released by NTA includes Joint Entrance Examination [JEE (Main)] 2024 Session 1 and JEE Main 2024 Season 2, NEET UG 2024, Common University Entrance Test - UG (CUET-UG) 2024, CUET PG 2024, and UGC-NET Session 1.

In respect of the NEET UG 2024 examination, which is the centralised common entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical courses, the NTA examination calendar mentioned that the examination will be held in Pen and Paper/ OMR mode and will be held on May 05, 2024.

"The Examination Specific details shall be informed to candidates through the Information Bulletin of respective examinations, which will be published at the time of launch of Registration Forms of these examinations. The results of all CBT Examinations shall be announced within three weeks of the conclusion of the examination. For NEET (UG) 2024, the results shall be declared by second week of June, 2024," NTA mentioned in the release.

For the Academic year 2024-25, following is the Calendar for some major examinations to be conducted by the NTA:

"For further clarification related to the examination dates and other instructions, the Candidates are advised to visit the official website of NTA www.nta.ac.in for the latest updates," the release further mentioned.

NEET UG is an offline, pen-and-paper-based examination that is conducted annually by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam comprises of a single-question paper with 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). The exam lasts 3 hours and 20 minutes and is held in various languages, making it accessible to many students. NEET UG is held for admissions to various medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS.
