NEET 2025: NTA issues notice on Aadhar Update, APAAR ID for candidates, check details here
New Delhi- Soon NEET UG 2025 exam registration process is going to commence. On this, the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education has issued a new instruction for the candidates applying for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2025 exam, notifying on the integration of APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) in the NEET UG 2025 application and examination process.
This initiative is aimed at ensuring a seamless experience for candidates by encouraging the use of APAAR ID and both Aadhaar-based and exam stages.
In this regard, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a public notice stating that “As per instructions issued by Dept of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, integration of APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) with NEET (UG) - 2025 is to be ensured. To support this objective, candidates are encouraged to use their APAAR ID as well as Aadhaar-based authentication during the application and examination process. Updated credentials are highly recommended for ease of verification and registration process and to enhance the integrity of the examination process”.
WHY AADHAR IS IMPORTANT?
1 Simplified Application Process- Using Aadhaar helps in auto-populating details, reducing manual errors during application submission.
2 Enhanced Examination Efficiency- With advancements in Aadhaar-based technology, such as the Face Authentication Method introduced by UIDAI, candidates can now benefit from faster identity verification tools
3 Faster Attendance Verification- Facial recognition enables quicker and more accurate identity verification, ensuring smooth entry into the exam hall.
4 Welfare of Candidates- Aadhaar authentication simplifies processes and ensures candidates are uniquely identified, safeguarding their interests throughout the examination lifecycle.
5 What Candidates Should Do- Update Aadhaar Credentials: Aspirants are advised to ensure that their Aadhaar details (especially their Name and Date of Birth (as per the 10th Passing certificate)), including facial recognition data, are up to date for optimal experience during the registration process and verification processes. This can be done at the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Center.
Therefore, candidates are advised to update their credentials in their Aadhaar, preferably as per their 10th mark sheet/passing certificate. Also, ensure that your Aadhaar is linked with a valid mobile number for OTP-based authentication, the notice further instructed.
