TN Health Invites Applications for MSc Nursing Admissions 2025, Know All Details Here

Tamil Nadu- The Tamil Nadu medical education department (TN Health) is inviting online applications for admission to the MSc Nursing Courses in the Government Medical Colleges and Government seats in the Self-Financing Paramedical Institutions affiliated to the TN Dr MGR Medical University for the 2025-26 session.
In this regard, TN Health has released the prospectus detailing the eligibility criteria, procedure for filling & submission of application, counselling procedure, method of selection & admission, etc.
As per the prospectus, the online application form is already made available on the official website of TN Health and the last date of the online application form is upto 31 August 2025, upto 05.00 P.M. However, the tentative dates for declaration of Rank, counselling, commencement of courses, and closure of Admission will be notified later.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1 Candidates seeking admission to the MSc (Nursing) Course should be citizens of India.
2 The candidates who have studied from 11th standard onwards and Post Basic BSc (Nursing) including Diploma Nursing / BSc (Nursing) in Tamil Nadu need not furnish Nativity certificate but have to give proof for their study period in Tamil Nadu and also furnish a declaration that they are not claiming the nativity in any other State except in Tamil Nadu which is to be signed either by the parent or Guardian and the Candidate.
3 Nativity Certificate submitted later will not be accepted.
4 Candidates who are claiming the nativity of Tamil Nadu should upload their Nativity Certificate issued by the competent authority from the Revenue Department of Tamil Nadu with the official seal. Candidates who are claiming community reservation of Tamil Nadu should upload the following certificates-
i Candidate’s Community Certificate issued by the competent authority from the Revenue Department of Tamil Nadu with the Official seal.
ii Community Certificate of either of the parents issued by the competent authority from the Revenue Department of Tamil Nadu with official seal.
PROCEDURE FOR FILLING AND SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION
1 The candidates shall fill in the Application form carefully.
2 The candidate should submit only one application form.
3 A candidate submitting an online application with incomplete or insufficient particulars or without enclosures will not be accepted. (Without any intimation to the candidate).
4 Service candidates should upload their applications along with the forwarding authority’s remarks and the service particulars carefully filled up by the forwarding authority as prescribed in the application form. Applications of the Service candidates who have completed two years of continuous, regular service as on 31 March 2025 alone will be considered. The Heads of Directorate have to issue a Certificate of completion of the required service.
5 Candidates should upload the necessary enclosures while submitting the online application.
6 SC / SCA / ST Candidates of Tamil Nadu are exempted from the Application fee.
7 Recent passport-size photographs to be uploaded to the application form.
DOCUMENTS
The Candidates are instructed to upload the following documents along with the application, failing which the application is liable for rejection-
1 Copy of Aadhaar Card.
2 BSc (Nursing) Degree Certificate or provisional pass certificate from the University concerned to which the college is affiliated.
3 First year / Semester to final year/semester BSc (Nursing) Mark sheets issued by the University concerned.
4 Tamil Nadu State Nursing Council and Midwifery Council Permanent / Provisional Registration Certificates of Diploma / B.Sc. (Nursing) Degree / Post Basic Nursing (or) copy of the acknowledgement of registration of the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
5 Valid Community Certificate issued by the competent authority of the Revenue Department of Tamil Nadu with official seal and date.
6 Birth Certificate or copy of Higher Secondary Certificate / School Leaving Certificate / College Leaving Certificate / Extract from Service Register as evidence for Date of Birth.
7 Eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University for candidates who have qualified the undergraduate course from Universities other than the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University.
8 Attempt Certificate in the Final Year BSc (Nursing) course from the College / University concerned.
9 Experience certificate for one year after Provisional registration from Hospital / Nursing College / School of Nursing / Community Health Centre.
10 Nativity certificate (if applicable) with supportive Documents.
11 Copy of Posting order (For service candidates).
12 Any one of the supporting documents-
i Driving a License.
ii Voter’s ID.
iii Passport.
iv Copy of Parents’ Documents (Aadhaar Card and School certificate).
COUNSELLING PROCEDURE (SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM)
1 Admission to the MSc (Nursing) Course shall be made by the online counselling based on rank, following the rule of reservation/roster system by the Government of Tamil Nadu and as per all other terms and conditions.
2 Candidates have to register and choose their choices of preferences in online counselling. Candidates who have not registered and whose choice is locked in the 1st round of online Counselling will be permitted to the subsequent rounds of online counselling.
3 Once options are submitted during the Online counselling, they cannot be changed later. Request for change of speciality/college from one to another is not permitted after an option has been exercised at the time of online counselling.
4 Re-allotment for the Speciality / College will be permitted only during the 2nd phase of counselling.
5 Request for transfer from one college/speciality will not be allowed strictly.
6 Individual requests for college transfer will not be entertained during or after counselling.
7 Mutual transfers will not be permitted under any circumstances.
