Tragic: 2 second-year MBBS student dies in bike accident in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: In an unfortunate incident, two second-year medical students of Maharajas Group of Institutions at Kondampatti allegedly lost their lives in a road accident after their motorcycle crashed into the rear of an unidentified four-wheeler vehicle near Arasampalayam Pirivu on the Coimbatore-Pollachi Main Road.
Both natives of Maharashtra tragically died from fatal head injuries after being thrown from their two-wheeler in the collision, resulting in their immediate death on the road.
The accident occurred while they were returning home which is a rental house at Lakshmi Nagar in Kinathukadavu after having tea from a shop in the evening on Thursday.

According to the police, the duo were speeding and as a result, hit the vehicle in front of them which unfortunately took their life.
“They were speeding and their bike hit a four-wheeler vehicle, which people in the vicinity said was a mini truck, from behind. The duo were thrown off the bike in the impact of the incident and fell on the road. They succumbed to their head injuries on the spot," said a police officer.
Following the accident, the locals alerted the Kinathukadavu police who rushed to the spot, conducted a preliminary investigation and sent the dead bodies for postmortem to the government hospital at Pollachi.
After the postmortem, the dead bodies were handed over to their family members on Friday afternoon.
During the investigation, the police found that the four-wheeler driver did not stop after the accident and collected CCTV footage from the accident spot to trace the vehicle.
Speaking to TOI, an officer said "We were collecting CCTV footage from the accident spot to trace the four-wheeler involved in the incident. The driver of that vehicle didn’t stop the vehicle after the incident. We have registered a case against an unknown vehicle driver and further investigation is on.”
