Two merit lists for NEET, 5% reservation for Govt school students, announces MP CM
Bhopal: There will be two merit lists for the undergraduate medical aspirants in Madhya Pradesh and 5 per cent of the total seats will remain reserved for the students of the government schools, Chief Minister of the State Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently announced.
Such an announcement was made by the Chief Minister as he pointed out that the students belonging to the government schools were left out in the competition for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) examination.
Taking note of the same, CM Chouhan has announced that two merit list will be prepared on the based of NEET entrance examination for the undergraduate medical courses. In one list 5% students from the government school will be given reservation for admission to medical colleges. Another general list will be prepared with names of the rest of the 95% of students.
This announcement was made by the MP Chief Minister while he was launching "Madhya Pradesh Youth Policy" on the occasion of Youth Mahapanchayat on Thursday.

Apart from the announcement regarding NEET merit list, CM Chouhan also announced the launch of Mukhyamantri Yuva Kaushal Karmayi Yojana. As per the latest media report by Business Standard, referring to the biggest apprenticeship scheme in the world, he said, “Youths who have not got jobs after passing class 12 will be trained in different fields. They will get Rs 8,000 per month during the training itself. Registrations will start on the youth portal on June 1. People in the age group 15-29 will be eligible.”
Further, the government has announced that now the candidates appearing for recruitment exams for government jobs will have to pay the fees only once. Announcement for a youth portal has also been made and this portal will provide information on education, employment, health, sport, cultural activities, etc.
Making the announcement regarding 5% reservation for government school students in NEET-UG, the CM also added, “I am not against English, but English cannot be forced in Madhya Pradesh."
Last year, Medical Dialogues had reported about the announcement regarding introducing MBBS education in Hindi in the State of Madhya Pradesh. As per the decision three MBBS subjects- anatomy, physiology and biochemistry- would be taught in Hindi to first-year MBBS students in all 13 government medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh.
