Doctor, 5 others booked for issuing fake birth certificates in Jhajjar

The inquiry disclosed that three birth certificates were issued to the son of the Army personnel in March 2011, 2012 and 2013. Out of them, two birth certificates issued in 2012 and 2013 were found to be fake.
Jhajjar: A case has been registered against six health officials for issuing fake birth certificates twice to the same child with different years of birth after a preliminary inquiry was conducted by the district health officials in this regard.
The probe took place after a social outfit registered a complaint. A case was registered against a doctor, health inspector, two staff nurses, and an ANM after the inquiry team found evidence of their involvement and they have been booked under charges of cheating and forgery, reports the Tribune.

According to a complaint given by Sunil Kumar, secretary, of Pahal Youth Club, the child identified as Reyan from Jhajjar district was born at the PGIMS in Rohtak on March 21, 2011. The child's father works in the army and his mother works at the Health Department. Thus, the complainant alleged that the fake birth certificate was issued to get the benefits under the Army quota.
In the statement lodged at the police station, the complainant stated, "Reyan's relative is working as an ANM at a sub-health centre in Akheri Madanpur village. By misusing her position, she got his name registered thereby showing a fake delivery on papers in March 2012. Thereafter, another fake birth certificate was issued from the Community Health Centre, Jamalpur, in 2013.
DSP Naresh Kumar said that the organization had given a written complaint to the Senior Medical Officer (SMO), Community Health Centre, Jamalpur who then conducted the inquiry. The DSP told the Tribune, "The inquiry disclosed that three birth certificates were issued to the son of the Army personnel in March 2011, 2012 and 2013. Out of them, two birth certificates issued in 2012 and 2013 were found to be fake. An investigation is underway to find out the involvement of other persons in the matter while a case under Sections 420, 467, 468, and 471 of the IPC has been registered against six persons in this regard."
Further, Shakti Singh, Deputy Commissioner (DC) said that an FIR has been registered and they would take appropriate action against those found guilty. He has issued a warning asking people not to get involved in such illegal acts and to inform the district administrative authorities if they get to know about such activities.
