Bengaluru: A Bengaluru-based doctor has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing a 19-year-old girl who had visited his clinic for consultation. The accused doctor, on the pretext of administrating IV treatment sexually harassed her and threatened her with dire consequences if she discussed the matter with anyone.
The police have formed special teams to find the doctor, who is in his late 30s and is currently absconding. Based on the girl's complaint, the Chandra Layout police registered an FIR against the doctor.
It has been reported that the incident took place when the teen went to his clinic for consultation at Arundhatinagar near Chandra Layout in west Bengaluru during September last week and October first week for stomach ache.
The teen told the police that the doctor had allegedly touched her inappropriately on the night of September 28 when she had gone with her mother for consultation. The doctor reportedly sexually harassed her on the pretext of administering IV treatment and threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about it.
According to a media report in the Mangalorean, the girl told the police, "I went to the clinic with my mother on the night of September 28. The doctor had touched me inappropriately. On September 29, when I visited for the second time, the accused doctor, while giving glucose, touched my cheek inappropriately. On September 30, I went to him with my brother. The accused doctor sent him out and asked me to sleep on the bed in the clinic. He started sexually harassing me, I protested and started crying."
She informed her mother about the incident when the latter insisted her on consulting the doctor again, reports the Times of India. The girl's brothers reportedly vandalized the doctor's clinic after knowing about the incident. However, the doctor allegedly managed to escape.
The police added that the accused is a resident of Pension Mohalla in Cottonpet and is married. A case has been registered, and the police are trying to track the doctor.
