Bihar strengthens rural healthcare with 410 medical officers

410 Doctors Appointed Statewide
Patna: Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey on Tuesday handed over appointment letters to 410 newly recruited medical officers, who will soon be deployed at Additional Primary Health Centres (APHCs) across the state.
The State Health Department organised a one-day orientation workshop and appointment letter distribution ceremony at the Energy Auditorium on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister highlighted the steady expansion of the Health Department, citing large-scale recruitment drives in recent months. These have included specialist doctors, Ayush practitioners, paramedical staff, ANMs, and GNMs. He further noted that the induction of 410 newly appointed MBBS doctors will significantly strengthen healthcare services, particularly in rural areas.
The minister also announced that new health sub-centres will be opened from next month. “In the last three months alone, nearly 1,200 doctors have been appointed under the National Health Mission by the State Health Committee, while the recruitment process for over 3,000 more doctors is in the final stage,” he said, reports the Daily Jagran.
Praising the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the minister reiterated the state government's goal of delivering quality healthcare services within Bihar itself, so that citizens do not have to travel outside the state for medical treatment.
He urged the new appointees to serve with compassion and humility.
The event was also attended by Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, Executive Director of the State Health Committee Suharsh Bhagat, along with senior officials, including Dr. Nilesh Ramchandra Devre, Vaibhav Chaudhary, Amitabh Singh, and other key figures from the Health Department.
