Chennai Doctor suffers seizure while driving, kills couple

Chennai Doctor's Seizure Causes Fatal Crash
Chennai: In a tragic incident, a government doctor suffered a seizure while driving, causing him to crash into a two-wheeler near Avadi on Thursday morning, which resulted in the death of a couple on the spot.
The accident occurred around 10:10 am on the Avadi–Poonamallee Road, when the doctor, allegedly losing consciousness while driving, crashed into the couple’s bike from behind, struck the centre median, and overturned. The couple died on the spot.
The deceased couple, both employed in different private firms, were on their way to work when the unfortunate accident occurred. They are survived by their twin sons.
According to police reports, the doctor behind the wheel of the car, a physician at a primary health centre in Soranchery, claimed that he suffered a seizure while driving, which caused him to lose consciousness and veer into the couple's path.

“During inquiries, Parry’s wife told us that he had suffered from seizures since his teens. We are probing to find out how he was allowed to drive despite his condition,” the source said, according to TNIE.
A case under sections 281, 106(i), and 125(b) of the BNS (Indian Penal Code) has been registered against the doctor. The investigation is still ongoing.
