Delhi doctor allegedly sexually assaulted by man posing as army officer

Fake Army Officer Arrested for Rape in Delhi
New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 27-year-old doctor from Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital was allegedly raped by a man who posed as an Indian Army officer after befriending her through social media. The accused, who actually works as a delivery agent with Amazon, was arrested by Delhi Police following a raid in the Chhatarpur area.
According to the news reports, the accused befriended the doctor on Instagram earlier this year and continued communicating with her over WhatsApp. To gain her trust, he allegedly introduced himself as a Lieutenant posted in Kashmir and sent her photographs of himself in a military uniform to support his claim.

The victim filed a complaint at the Safdarjung Enclave Police Station on October 16, prompting an immediate investigation.
Police subsequently conducted a raid in Chhatarpur and arrested the accused. During questioning, Malik disclosed that he had purchased the Army uniform online from a shop in Delhi Cantonment, reports India Today.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including provisions related to rape, cheating, and impersonation.
