Delhi: Drunk doctor arrested for abusing, thrashing traffic cop

New Delhi: A doctor was arrested for allegedly beating up and abusing a Delhi Traffic Police Constable in the outer north Delhi's Narela region in an inebriated condition.

The medical practitioner was arrested on Sunday after a case was registered against him by the police based on a complaint by the constable, identified as 32-year-old Chandramani, posted at the Narela Traffic Circle.

As per a recent media report Times of India, the complainant claimed that he was assigned the duty at Ramdev Chowk in Narela from 8 AM to 10 PM on Friday.

Quoting the victim's complaint an officer stated, "He noticed that there was a traffic snarl in Saboli Mod. He went there and cleared the traffic jam. Later, he noticed that around 9.45 pm, one person came in a car from the Saboli side and stopped his vehicle on the main road."

When the constable asked the doctor, who was driving the car to remove his vehicle which he had parked on the street, the doctor allegedly got angry and abused the officer. A verbal argument ensued between them, reports Times of India.
