Depression strikes: 2 doctors, 1 MBBS, 1 Paediatrician commit suicide
Hyderabad: In a tragic turn of events reported from Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad, one MBBS doctor and one paediatrician have allegedly committed suicide.
According to recent media accounts, both doctors were under depression due to personal reasons.
The 33-year-old doctor, who hailed from Andhra Pradesh, completed his MBBS in 2011 at Kurnool Medical College and later got a job as a doctor at the Agra Military Hospital.
As per the Hans India report, the doctor committed suicide by hanging himself at home on Sunday morning after he was upset that his wife and parents were elsewhere.
One Town police examined the scene and moved the body to a government hospital for postmortem.
ASI Padmavati informed the case was registered as per the complaint of the family members.
In the other incident, a 50-year-old paediatrician from Medak was found dead in a hotel room at KPHB Colony on Sunday.
He had come to Hyderabad on Sunday morning along with his wife and son for the latter's National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) attempt at Ganges Valley School, Nizampet. While his wife went back to Medak, the doctor checked into a hotel around 2.30 pm and resorted to the extreme step, reports the Hindu.
Hans India adds that the doctor, after entering the room, did not come out and allegedly hanged himself to the ceiling fan. The hotel staff sensed something suspicious; they knocked on the door. But he did not come out. The staff informed the police, who broke the door only to find the doctor's body hanging from the ceiling fan.
"He was depressed due to problems," KPHB police said, adding that a case was registered and a probe is underway.
The paediatrician was a suspect in the sensational murder of one Dharmagari Srinivas, whose charred body was found in a car at Mangalparthi village in Veldurthi mandal of Medak on August 10, police informed the Hindu.
