The raid was led by PNDT Nodal Officers Dr Anamika Bishnoi and Dr Prolin Garg, along with the Medical Officer from PHC Agroha and Ajay Kumar, District Empowered Officer (PNDT). An informer accompanied the decoy customer, handing over the agreed sum to the clinic owner before being directed to a room on the first floor.
Soon after, the health department team raided the clinic. On noticing the officials, the clinic owner allegedly alerted his staff and attempted to flee. During the search, the team found two women and a man in a room on the first floor.
Speaking to Tribune India, sources said a laptop-like portable ultrasound machine and its charger were recovered from the room. No Form-F had been filled out for the ultrasound of the pregnant woman.
Further searches led to the recovery of six medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) kits and nearly 20 types of allopathic medicines, including narcotic drugs prohibited for sale without prescription under the NDPS Act.
