Doctor, friend assaulted and robbed after car collision

Gurugram: A doctor and his friend were allegedly assaulted and robbed following a collision between their SUV and another car on Sohna Road in Gurugram. The victims were not only beaten but also had their mobile phones and a gold chain snatched.
According to the police, Dr Manish Taneja, a resident of Rewari, had come to Gurugram for some work with his friend Bharat Kalra. While they were travelling on Sohna Road, an Eco car collided with their Fortuner car near Vatika Business Park.
It is alleged that the driver of the Eco car got down and started quarrelling with them. He beat them up and fled from the spot after snatching their mobile and gold chain. With the help of a passerby, they informed the police, the police said, news agency PTI reported..
A police team reached the spot. Following the complaint of Dr Taneja, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the BNS at Sector 50 police station, they said.
A senior police officer said that a probe is underway and the accused will be arrested soon.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a tragic incident during a robbery attempt targeting a doctor couple on a moving train early Wednesday, a 50-year-old Ayurvedic doctor lost part of his left arm while trying to protect his wife. According to the news report, the Victim, Dr. Yogesh Deshmukh, 50, and his wife, Dr. Deepali Deshmukh, 44, both practising physicians, were travelling with their nine-year-old daughter to visit a relative when the horrifying ordeal unfolded between Kanjurmarg and Bhandup stations.
The incident occurred just 15 minutes after the train departed from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at around 3:35 a.m.
