Trichy: Around 25 doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff held a protest at Srirangam Government Hospital in Tiruchirappalli after an injured man and his companion allegedly entered the women doctors' dressing room while seeking treatment and filmed videos inside the hospital despite objections from the medical staff.
The incident, which reportedly disrupted hospital services for around 15 minutes, occurred when nurses and doctors were on the road until the police arrived and arrested the two men.
The demonstration was organised by the Association of Government Doctors and Postgraduate Doctors and was joined by members of several medical staff organisations.

The protesters condemned the growing trend of filming social media reels inside hospital premises and demanded strict legal action against those recording videos in healthcare facilities. They said hospitals are meant for patient care and should not be used for creating social media content.
They also appealed to patients' relatives to refrain from filming videos within hospital premises, citing concerns over patient privacy, disruption of medical services, and the safety of healthcare workers.
As per a latest media report by TOI, the protest was led by Dr Araleeswaran, State Treasurer of the Association of Government Doctors and Postgraduate Doctors.
The Hindu reported that as per information obtained by hospital sources, the injured man and his companion allegedly argued with security personnel after entering the hospital on Friday night. They reportedly started filming videos inside the premises despite being stopped by the duty doctor. Police later arrived at the hospital and arrested the two men.
A senior official said, "It is sad to see that GH staff are being harassed by the public for the past three months, and no steps to prevent such incidents have been taken."
During the protest, the protesters demanded dedicated workspaces for nurses and other hospital employees in line with government guidelines. They also called for the immediate establishment of a permanent police outpost at the hospital, stating that it is required under existing government orders and is necessary to ensure the safety of healthcare workers, patients and visitors.
