Dr Dipti Deepak Patel takes charge as IMA Surat President for 2026-27 term

Surat: Dr Dipti Deepak Patel has assumed charge as the 111th President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Surat, for the 2026–27 term at the installation ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of IMA Surat.
After taking the oath, Dr. Deepti outlined that her priorities would include the construction of a new IMA building and the effective utilization of AI in the medical field.
IMA Surat congratulated the doctor, stating, “In a beautifully emotional and unprecedented moment, Dr. Dipti chose her 94-year-old mother, Smt. Manjuben Parikh, as the Installation Officer to administer her oath. This is the first time in the history of IMA Surat that a president has taken office in front of their mother like this! With a strong vision ahead, her tenure is set to pave the way for AI integration in healthcare and major advancements for the medical fraternity.”
Dr. Dipti Patel is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with 35 years of overall experience. She practices at Love and Care Hospital in Rander, Surat. She and Dr. Dipak Patel established Love N Care Hospital in 1990, which focuses on women's healthcare, maternity, endoscopy, in-vitro fertilization, and cosmetic gynaecology.
Her clinical services include complicated pregnancy treatment, growth scans, fertility-conserving procedures, Doppler scans in pregnancy, lactation counselling, laparoscopic gynaecology, laparoscopic hysterectomy and IVF.
Dr Patel completed her MBBS from Government Medical College (GMC), Surat, in 1986 and DGO from Gujarat University in 1989.
IMA National President Anil Kumar Nayak was present at the event and administered the oath to the new executive committee. Doctors were felicitated by the Guest of Honour, Surat District Collector Tejas Parmar. Special guests included Dr. Anil Patel and Dr. Mahendra Singh Chauhan.
The newly appointed office bearers of IMA Surat are Dr Mukur Petrolwala as IPP, Dr Surendra Prajapati as President-Elect, Dr Hiren Vaidya and Dr Vinesh Shah as Vice Presidents, Dr Rajanikant Patel as Hon. Secretary, Dr Haresh Bhavsar as Treasurer, Dr Arvind Panwar as Joint Secretary, Dr Nikunj Vithlani as Joint Treasurer, Dr Sandeep Thakkar as Asst. Secretary, and Dr. Gordhan Kasodaria as Joint Secretary (All Schemes).
Sanchari Chattopadhyay has pursued her M.A in English and Culture Studies from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal. She likes observing cultural specificities and exploring new places.
