Dr Rajinder Kumar Bansal appointed Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences
Faridkot: Dr Rajinder Kumar Bansal has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, by the Punjab Government. The appointment was made on August 23, 2026, and his tenure will be for three years from the date he assumes office.
According to a notification issued by the Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Punjab, the order stated, “In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14(2) of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Act, 1998, as amended from time to time, Hon'ble Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot is pleased to appoint Dr. Rajinder Kumar Bansal, as Vice-Chancellor of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot for a period of three years, from the date of assumption of office by him. The terms and conditions of the appointment of Dr. Rajinder Kumar Bansal will be notified separately.”
Dr. Bansal completed his MBBS from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMC&H) in 1988 and MD in Medicine in 1992. He later pursued D.M. in Neurology from SGPGIMS, Lucknow, in 2000.
He joined the Department of Neurology at DMC&H in 2002 and was promoted to Professor in 2010. Throughout his association of more than twenty years with the institution, he contributed extensively to enhancing medical education, delivering patient care, guiding junior doctors, and strengthening neurology services.
