Dr Sangita Reddy appointed NATHEALTH President for 2026-27

New Delhi: NATHEALTH, the apex healthcare industry body, has appointed Dr Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Group, as its president for the financial year 2026–27. She previously served as Senior Vice President of NATHEALTH and will succeed Ameera Shah, Promoter and Executive Chairperson of Metropolis Healthcare.
The announcement was made during the 12th Annual General Meeting of NATHEALTH in New Delhi, which took place after the organisation’s annual flagship summit. The 12th NATHEALTH Annual Arogya Bharat Summit 2026 opened with ‘Swasth Bharat se Viksit Bharat,’ examining the link between national health and the 2047 vision.
Dr. Sangita Reddy is recognised as a Global Healthcare Influencer, Healthcare Technocrat, Social Entrepreneur, and Humanitarian. Passionately committed to transforming the healthcare system through technological advancements, she is accelerating positive transformation for effective healthcare service delivery.
In recognition of her contributions, she has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by Macquarie University, Australia, for her work in bringing transformative changes in healthcare, development of Health IT, and championing manifold initiatives both in India and abroad. She also serves as an Honorary Consul of Brazil in Hyderabad, appointed by the Government of India.
Dr. Reddy is a member of the World Economic Forum and served as the President of the industry chamber, FICCI, for 2019-2020. She has been nominated by the Government of India as a Member of the Technology Development Board, Department of Science and Technology. Additionally, she is an Executive Member at the National Association of Software & Services Cos (NASSCOM) and was on the Board for the Development Institute, USA, and GAVI.Org.
Earlier, she was an elected Member of the Steering Committee on Health for the Twelfth Five-Year Plan (2012-2017) by the Planning Commission, Government of India. She has advocated and influenced policy reforms and is an acclaimed speaker on global healthcare forums around the world, including the World Health Congress. As a member of the Rockefeller Working Group, she contributes to the development of the private sector’s role in the global healthcare industry.

Sanchari Chattopadhyay has pursued her M.A in English and Culture Studies from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal. She likes observing cultural specificities and exploring new places.
