Pune: Pune is set to host its first-ever Health Literature Conference on November 19 at the Bal Gandharva Rangmandir, as part of the upcoming Pune Health Festival.
According to an UNI report, Dr Sanjay Oak, renowned paediatric and laparoscopic surgeon and writer, has been elected the president of the maiden conference, announced Umesh Chavan, chairman of the reception committee.
The conference will be jointly organised by the Rugna Hakka Parishad, the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, and the Charitable Hospitals Help Cell (Mumbai), along with the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is scheduled to inaugurate the event.
Chavan also declared that the prestigious ‘Maharashtra Arogya Bhushan Award’ will be conferred upon the well-known Melghat-based social activists and medical couple, Padma Shri Dr Smita Kolhe and Dr Ravindra Kolhe.
The Pune Health Festival, under which the event is being held, will feature multiple programmes aimed at public health education, preventive medicine, and wellness initiatives across the city.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Army Institute of Cardio Thoracic Sciences (AICTS), Pune, is hosting the Association of Physicians of India (API) - Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) National Pulmonology Conference from 18th to 20th September 2025. This prestigious event brings together leading experts in Pulmonary Medicine from the Armed Forces and premier academic institutions across the country to discuss advancements and strategies for improving care for patients with respiratory diseases.
The conference commenced on 18th September with seven hands-on workshops, attended by over 300 residents and nearly 100 faculty members. These workshops offered a rare and valuable opportunity for trainee doctors from various specialities to engage directly with some of India’s foremost pulmonologists and gain practical experience under expert guidance.
