Dr Vishal Pawar takes charge as IMA Nashik President for 2026-27

Pune: Dr Vishal Pawar has been appointed president of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Nashik chapter for 2026-27 following his formal installation at an official ceremony. He has announced a series of initiatives aimed at benefiting both doctors and the broader community over the coming year.
Speaking after taking charge, Dr Pawar stated that the proposed initiatives will emphasize improving overall well-being, with particular attention to both physical and mental health.
Dr Pawar brings valuable experience to the position, having previously served at Dr. Vasantrao Pawar Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Adgaon Naka, Nashik. He has completed his MBBS degree at ACPM Medical College, Dhule.
The IMA Nashik branch's new office bearers assumed their roles at a formal induction ceremony held recently. Eminent author and 'Panipatkar' Vishwas Patil was present as the chief guest. Dr Santosh Kulkarni (President, IMA Maharashtra State), MLA Dr Rahul Aher, ex MLC Dr Sudhir Tambe were also present as Guests of Honour.
The new team members of the IMA Nashik include Dr Pankaj Bhat as the Secretary, Dr Yogesh Bachchav and Dr Nikita Patil as Vice Presidents, Dr Sagar Bhalerao as Treasurer, Dr Milind Bharadia as Cultural Secretary, and Dr Prashant Sonawane as President-Elect.
Talking about their future plans, Dr Vishal Pawar stated, “The new executive committee is committed to fostering unity among all members. Furthermore, various initiatives will be implemented for the physical, mental, and financial well-being of doctors. The committee also intends to undertake various initiatives aimed at addressing the health-related concerns of the general public. IMA will also take part in kumbh in 27-28.”
Formed in 1940, IMA Nashik was previously known as the Nashik Medical Union. The then civil surgeon, Dr. R.D. More, Dr. Varti, Dr. Chobe, and Dr. P.S. Gupte were the founders of this organization.
Sanchari Chattopadhyay has pursued her M.A in English and Culture Studies from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal. She likes observing cultural specificities and exploring new places.
