ESI doctor killed, another injured in road accident in Chennai
Chennai: In a tragic incident, a doctor working at an ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation) hospital lost his life in a road accident near Red Hills on Thursday while his colleague doctor sustained severe injuries from the accident.
The duo was on their way to Chennai from Gummidipoondi when the accident took place. The deceased doctor, unfortunately, died after his two-wheeler rammed onto a parking truck.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old G Nishanth, a native of Tiruchy. He was working as a doctor at ESI hospital at KK Nagar. His colleague is a 25-year-old doctor and a resident of Dharmapuri.

The accident happened in the evening when the doctor was riding a two-wheeler with his colleague riding a pillion on it near the Padiyanallur toll gate and suddenly he rammed into a parked truck.
Due to the heavy jerk, the duo immediately fell from the two-wheeler and was injured. After noticing the accident, locals and passersby rushed them to a Stanley Government Hospital, TOI reports.
The doctors at the hospital declared Nishanth brought dead while his colleague suffered injuries. She was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
A road accident case has been registered by the Red Hills TIW (Traffic Investigation Wing) and an investigation into the case is underway.
The police have sent Nishanth’s body to a government hospital for post-mortem. The report will assist in furthering the investigation.
