Fake MBBS Degree Racket: Police arrest alleged mastermind from Bhopal

Fake Doctor
Bhopal: Authorities investigating the fake MBBS degree scam linked to Sanjivani clinics operating under the National Health Mission (NHM) in Damoh have now traced the alleged mastermind behind the racket.
Medical Dialogues had recently reported that a shocking case of medical fraud has come to light in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh, where police have apprehended three men for allegedly posing as doctors at "Sanjeevani Clinics" operating under the National Health Mission (NHM), officials said. The revelation of this case has sent shockwaves through the Health Department and the administrative machinery alike. Investigations carried out by the Kotwali police revealed that the accused had allegedly been posing as doctors and treating patients at government health centres for nearly a year.

As part of the ongoing probe, police teams conducted raids in Bhopal and Gwalior and arrested a key accused from Bhopal. Investigators suspect that he played a central role in running the fraudulent network.
According to the news reports, the Bhopal-based accused allegedly coordinated the preparation of fake educational documents and helped place individuals with forged MBBS qualifications in medical positions.
Investigators further revealed that fake MBBS degrees and marksheets were allegedly supplied through a doctor based in Gwalior, who is currently absconding. With the latest arrests, the total number of accused in the case has risen to six.
A police investigation has revealed that a Gwalior doctor, along with a Bhopal resident, set up a network to create fake marksheets and MBBS degrees. The first fake degree was sold to a resident of Morena, according to reports by Dainik Bhaskar.
The case has raised serious concerns about verification procedures in medical appointments under government healthcare schemes, especially in rural and semi-urban clinics operating under NHM initiatives.
Authorities are now examining whether additional fake doctors may have been recruited through the same network.
