FORDA Urges Doctors to Send Suggestions on NMC Draft PGMER 2023

New Delhi: Pointing out that every voice is important, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) recently urged the doctors to submit suggestions on the recently released draft Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations-2023.
Asking the doctors to send the suggestions and feedback on the official email id of FORDA, the association mentioned on X (formerly Twitter), "Attention! Kindly send your suggestions/ feedback/ points of contention against the PG regulations issued by @NMC_IND to our official email id. delhiforda@gmail.com Every voice is important!"
The association also shared a copy of the notice issued by the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the National Medical Commission along with the post. Issuing the concerned notice dated 06.09.2023, NMC PGMEB recently sought comments from the stakeholders on the draft Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023.
Inviting comments regarding the draft regulations, the Under Secretary of NMC PG Board further mentioned in the notice dated September 06, 2023, "It is requested to share comments on the draft regulations at the following email id comments.pqrequlations@nmc.org.in in MS Word (.docx) format or machine readable PDF Format within 10 days from the date of publication of this notice with a subject tagline "Comments on draft Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations-2023."
Along with the Public Notice, NMC PG Board also shared a copy of the Draft regulations. Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Draft PGMER 2023 laid down the draft framework as well as the regulations that are to be followed by all the medical colleges offering PG medical courses across the country.
The Draft Regulations include details about the courses specialities and components of Post-Graduate training, establishment of Post-graduate medical institutes and starting of new PG medical courses, admission and counselling, training of PG medicos, role of universities, details about departments, units, faculties and senior residents, examinations, sanction and penalty, faculty development programme, animal experimentation, collaborative research etc.
